This year's Medieval Night took place on Friday 16th November 2001 from 6:00pm onwards. The annual event in the town centre combines late night shopping with a variety of events to entertain.

Medieval Night, now in its seventh year, is now a regular annual event in the life of the town and often talked about fo quite a while after the evening has ended. As well as familiar events from previous years, this year will see new things to see and do.

Hertford Museum was open, offering an opportunity to meet The Tavener Family. The Friends Meeting House was also open, together with Shire Hall.

With a huge range of restaurants and hostelries joining in the fun with special menus and drink, it was an evening to remember.

The evening was rounded off with a firework display on Hartham Common starting at 9:45.
