Hertford Art Exhibition
Hertford Art Society is staging its 49th Annual Open Exhibition at The Corn Exchange in Fore Street between Sunday 6th and Saturday 19th May.
The two-week exhibition features 279 works of art and sculpture and is open daily from 11am to 9pm (Sunday 13th 11am-4:30pm). Further works can be seen at sponsors Hertfordshire Graphics in St.Andrews Street, Gravesons in Market Place and Hertford Library.
Three prizes are awarded as part of the exhibition. The John Goss Prize is awarded to the best overall work, which this year was judged to be Paul Curtis's "Midday Light, Marrakech". The Mayor's Award for the best surrealist, abstract or non-representational picture was won by "Triumph Of Hope VIII" by Julia Walling. The Bill Dale Award was received by Sharon Wright for "Walking The Dog".
Most of the work on show is available for purchase, with prices ranging from £40 to £1250.
