Schools are ranked on the perentage of eligible pupils reaching at lest level 4 of the national curriculum. Schools with fewer than 11 candidates are excluded so as not to identify individual pupils. All schools listd arein the state system. Preparatory schools are no required to sit tests or publish results.
Childrebn are eligible to sit the tests in the final year of primary school. Most are 11 years old but some are 10.
The government calculates the percentage reaching level 4 on tyhe basis of all elibible pupils, whether or not they actually took the tests. Absentees abd those "disapplied" in individual ubjects are included.
The total score is an aggregate of th percentage reaching leel 4 (the expected standard for an 11-er-old) in English, maths and science. In some cases, the aggregate appears greater than the combined subject scores because it takes into account decimal points.
