Hertfordshire Mercury

Postby commentator » Thu 01 Mar, 2018 2:35 pm

According to latest ABC figures sales of the Mercury (all editions) have fallen by 16 per cent to just over 9,000 copies a week. Can't see it lasting till the end of the year.

Wonder what the equivalent website figures are and what ad revenue they get from those?

The sooner it's put out of our misery the better. Poor reporting and an advert laden website.

They're closing their print titles and focusing more on their Live brand.

No surprise that they've registered the domain hertfordshirelive.co.uk.

It would be great if Illife Media brought The Independent to Hertford (Illife re-employed staff sacked from the Herts & Essex Observer and launched the new title operating out of the closed Observer offices in North Street).

Only about 9000 circulation, amazing, it doesn't seem long ago that the figure was around 30,000. Can it survive?
