Issues with the Hertford Loop debated in Parliament

Mark Prisk was one of a number of MPs that brought to the attention of the transport minister the poor service that we have been experiencing of late.

It's like watching Question Time.

MPs are bringing up real issues and real questions.
The transport minister responds by reading marketing material from FCC and answering questions that haven't been asked.

When I'm turfed off a train because the lighting has failed, I don't really care about FCC's "nominate a star" employee reward scheme.

From which we may infer that the rail connections to Cornwall are generally more reliable and not worthy of comment.

Well as as cynical old socialist I have to say that's more than a reasonable submission by someone I'd not usually give much time for. Succinct & to the pont with some harsh commentary. Good.

Same here. I thought all the MPs represented their constituents very well. They didn't come across as over-dramatic and Mr Prisk interrupted one of his colleagues a couple of times to clarify that the points she was raising wouldn't adversely affect the Hertford Loop.

a key point noted was that firstcc have got a new batch of drivers starting soon - so presumably this is to address the "train crew not available" problems.

Can't say I have ever been a fan of Mark Prisk but credit where credit is due - he sums up the issues and frustrations very well.

Agreed - a rare example of him actively canvassing opinion from constituents and then representing those opinions in parliament.
