Mercury poll result

Latest tweet from @HertsMercury:

"POLL RESULT: A clear winner this week - 80% of you said developers SHOULD be allowed to build on Green Belt to ease housing shortage".

I find this surprising, but I'm guessing that the sample size wasn't particularly large or representative. I can't find an actual link to the poll results, though.

Maybe they just asked the homeless?

I would vote no as a quick straw poll.

Had I voted it would have been 'No'. I believe we should be trying to preserve our green belt land. If it gets destroyed, what benefits would there be to living in Hertford vs any other 'inner' London town.

The green belt around Hertford is a huge selling point, losing it is just not worth thinking about. I fear that once you start building on green belt then you open a can of worms and have little or no say in stopping other places being built on.
