Two of the new trains have been spotted near Harringay / Hornsey today.

All they need to do now is teach the drivers how to operate them* and route-train them.

* Hopefully that will include how to turn on the heating when it is cold and the air conditioning when it is hot.

They're already operating. I collected someone from Stevenage the other day and three passenger services stopped whilst I was there.

Hi all,

I heard from a friend about 'season ticket compensation' for people who experienced problems on the Great Northern line, something about possibility of getting 'up to' a whole months costs back.

I cannot find this anywhere on the web. Could anyone point me in the right direction pls?

Thanks

Matt

On the train in to work yesterday one of the new trains passed me going North and pulling about eight or ten freight trucks. I don't know how long the passenger part was, as I looked up as it passed so only caught the last carriage, and then all the freight trucks. It was a shorter formation then the usual freight trains but long enough.

All of the new trains are 6 carriages long. They are designed so that you can walk through all of the carriages from end to end so there is no option to split them into three carriage units.

The units I saw operating at Stevenage were 12 cars - obviously 2 trains strung together.

The 12 car trains are class 700 not the new Moorgate trains. There are a whole series of variants on this general design for different routes and power pickup types.

There's a review of the trains on YouTube which shows what we will be getting:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0poGWvkkQ8&t=7s

In summary:
Fewer seats
More standing space
Power sockets
USB charging sockets
Wifi
Onboard travel information
No toilets
With non-opening windows, hopefully we will have air-conditioning

dont hold out high hope for the wifi - it's not working (yet) on the great northern route.
