Music Mystery Tour at Hertford Town FC - Sunday 28th August

Postby LoucasX » Wed 24 Aug, 2016 3:17 pm

Really excited that for the first time ever, Hertford Town FCs stadium on West Street is a venue for the Music Mystery Tour this Sunday.

We have 7 great bands starting with Gareth Rhys at 12 noon, then The Rivals, Broken Chords, The Badmen, Tommy Justice, Schrodingers Strings and our headline act at 9pm… Radio Video!

There will be a BBQ, supervised kids football, face painting, pimms tent....and of course the bar will be open all day.

Hope everyone has a great day visiting many of the 40 venues around town on what is one of Hertford's best days of the year. Be sure to pop in to the stadium as we offer something quite different to other venues with the bands playing on the pitch and the audience can watch from the seated (and covered) stand or from pitch side or even from the club house.

We went to the football club twice during the day. Absolutely wonderful. Well done to everyone involved.

Was a fantastic day. I was so pleased with the stage, the lighting and the sound system.

Most people watched the bands from the table and chairs on the raised tarmac area. The ones that wanted to get closer stood behind the perimeter rail. Either way they could watch the bands yet keep one eye on their kids playing football on the grass beyond the stage.

At one point when Schrodingers Strings played it rained and we all retreated to the seated stand for cover. So glad it did rain as sitting next to each other was more intimate as we sang along to Sweet Child of Mine played on harps! I heard a couple of people describe those moments as magical.

There was a steady stream of people arriving rather than a mass arrival so we never had queues for food or drink :D

Earlier in the day our house band The Bad Men (they are all regular fans) got the party going by playing to a crowd they were very familiar with.

The mood changed again when it got dark and Radio Video tore it up under the floodlights as people danced and sang the night to a close (see link for photo).
