Database developer

I need to find someone to code the data management and input front ends for a SQL server based database. Anybody local like to quote for the job, there seems to be a healthy number of IT professionals in the locale.

MySQL or MS-SQL?

Browser based? Mobile?

Do you have a written spec?

Possibly browser based, devs seem keen to point you this way but if a non browser based solution is easier, quicker and cheaper I'd happily go for that option (have a bad experience project managing a browser based application the majority of the problems, according to the developer, was the browser front end, which he recommended in the first place - sigh.)

Before spending money. Have a search for open source crm solutions.

Unless you have a special requirement most will suit your needs and be free to use. They are also skinable.

Some developers would use that as a starting point anyway.

The O/P has made no mention of CRM

I use Access loads and while it has a place I don't think it is stable/scalebale enough for our business.

Thanks I'll look into that, although it's not really a customer database.

Thanks all. If there are any programmers out there who may be interested and have the time this is a paying job, potentially quite big. I'm not expecting any favours.

Hi Jackanapes

I have a business in town and we have a developer that might be interested. Could you inbox me more of a technical spec and a brief overview about what you would like including scalability requirements etc and I can see if it is something that they could build for you.
