Beane Road/North Road cycling proposals

The County Council are conducting a survey on proposals for cycling "improvements" around North, Road, Beane Road and Hartham.
Most of the proposals appear to be cosmetic and an excuse for the County Council to claim they are supporting and promoting cycling. It's just an extension of the pointless on-road advisory cycle lane markings, because, hey, green paint makes cycling safer.

Motor vehicles and cycles should not be sharing the same carriageway. Painting a line a few feet out from the kerb and painting the space green does absolutely nothing to improve safety for cyclists. We need either dedicated cycle lanes or shared use with pedestrians (and ensuring that the pavements are wide enough for the separation of cyclists and pedestrians, which is what they do in parts of Stevenage).
