Hi all,

I think this is the right heading for this (technically it's 'entertainment' ;)

I'm looking for somewhere to drive to one weekend for a picnic with the missus. Ideally no more than about 10-15 miles away from Hertford (we're going in an old classic car and would hate to breakdown, talk about kill the occassion :( )

I can only think of alongside the river at Waterford, which is still an option but we've been there before, and it would be more impressive if it was somewhere new.

Any suggestions welcome. Could be a nice quiet village green perhaps, or full on countryside.

Thanks

Matt

There's a very popular spot on the River Mimram by the B1000 near Panshanger

The Gibberd Garden in Harlow is a lovely spot, costs about £4 each to go there - http://www.thegibberdgarden.co.uk/

"We regret that picnics are not permitted in the Garden, except at special events"...

Looks interesting though. Mrs S. and I may go and have look too! :)

That's a shame, pretty sure that wasn't the case previously. Still worth a visit though.

There are nice picnic areas at Hatfield Forest as an alternative.
