Just a quick reminder that this year's Rock At The Castle takes place next Sunday 3rd August in the Castle Grounds.

Rock At The Castle
Re: Rock At The Castle
Fantastic event yesterday, probably the best that it has been.

Great fun day out with music loud enough to hear this year!! Really enjoyed the Jesus Holligan drums at the end but the whole event was great - even the Macs 'Castle Rock' beer was very nice

Bump ...
Just to say well done to Hertford TC and all others involved again this year - a great event on Hertford's social calendar and nicely expanded with some good food stalls and additional stages elsewhere on site (I never really liked the previous two stage thing TBH!). I understand that the charity MIND raised about £6k too so congrats all round!
Only downside was Macs running out of beer (some may disagree that this is a downside!) about 5pm when the event went on until 7.30 - surely someone could have contacted one of the other local pubs and borrowed a few barrels or does that sort of thing not go on anymore?

Far from that, for the first time ever beer in plastic "glasses" or even in closed containers were banned from being brought in (although unlimited quantities of cans of any strength of booze were permitted) which essentially appeared aimed directly at the pubs close by. You could reasonably argue that McMullen's were the main sponsor & were well within their rights to deflect competition from other breweries or free houses, but not after they had run out, as Golden mentions, nearly 3 hours before the end.
At least the off licences did well out of it......
