Yes, I heard same from a well connected source.

That's a shame but can't say I'm surprised. When I go in it seems very quiet. It also feels quite dark in there. With the Oak Room opposite they must have lost a lot of business. The Oak Room seems more appealing and is much busier.

You're jumping to conclusions. The planning notice makes no mention of a pub, it says a "drinking establishment". The proposal is for a juice bar.
