I understand the significance of the cross on the roof of this building but is there any significance to the aeroplane as a weather vane? Anyone know?

Haven't seen it but might be pointing to Biggles or Capt W E Johns who wrote the books. There is a plaque in Cowbridge ( I forget which shop possibly the old DIY one). Bircherley Green had a aeroplane in some of the designs over the shops and clock; and I think one features in the sculpture close to Sainsburys. Believe Johns moved to Molewood Road.

"There is a plaque in Cowbridge ( I forget which shop possibly the old DIY one)" - That'll be the one on the right of Oh My Cod as you look at it. Was called "Biggles House" for a few years.
