Usually with these things, they book more time than they actually need.

In reality they'll probably just do roadworks for something like three days starting anywhere in the period 28th Feb to 11th April.

I may be wrong.

Will be interesting with Fore Street also being closed for 1 week as from Monday. Am guessing that they will be diverting traffic through Parliament Square for access to town so could be a bit of a jam for the Monday rush hour!

Quite. I take it all back.
However, from what I saw from my bike it's not the lights causing the problem, but people's interpretation of what the colour red means.

I would think they are having problems there was a Policeman down there at 7.30 seemed to be monitoring the situation!

I saw him too - shuffling cones about. I think you'll find he was a "Traffic Womble" (as my son somewhat derogatorily puts it) employed by the traffic light contractor to make sure the Saturday night revellers had not been creative with the arrangements. He was there yesterday as well. Fun job(?).....but you do get a load of HiViz gear and a motorbike with a flashy light stalk....

Sainsbury think they may be "quiet" as a result (under seige more like....).

He was, indeed, a gentleman from the traffic lights company. I stood and chatted with him as he was setting it all up on Friday.

He was as frustrated as I'm sure we all will all be over the coming weeks. A difficult job, trying to programme the system to suit all directions. As we stood at the crossing, a passing driver wound down his window and swore at him. Not sure that that really helped. :(
