I noticed that yesterday evening without any fanfare or commentary Steve has posted a link which appears to show the old archive forum can be accessed again. If this represents the fact that the various technical hurdles that had previously meant this wasn't possible have now been overcome I think this is great news (and worthy of highlighting). The old forum has a wealth of useful info and can provide context to discussions on the new forum. Thanks Steve!

Nope, none of those hurdles were overcome. Cheap and dirty Windows hosting space was the quickest and easiest solution to making the old forum accessible. The archive comes without warranty or Service Level Agreement.

Some of you may have noticed that the old forum was once again inaccessible. This was due to the fact that we lost the old Windows server.

We have now ported the database and strung together some simple pages to access the old forum:
