GNRail haven't got Oyster (yet) but they are introducing a "smartcard".

http://www.thameslinkrailway.com/ticket ... smartcard/

It's compatible with Oyster card readers which, I assume, means you will have to keep your Oyster card and Smartcard apart when touching tge Oyster card readers as you could end up being charged incorrectly.

There is more GA staff on hand this morning to help with the launch of oyster.

Haven't seen anyone use it yet!

I have a season ticket which expires soon. I'm going to have to ask the price difference (if any).

No-one obviously there at 0745 except for a PCSO handing out leaflets on preventing burglaries when I used it for the 0757. I expected to see someone but it looked as much as I might have expected, that is nothing. But perhaps they were on a tour of the stations and arrived on the next train.

I may have mis-represented. I saw ONE person talking to a commuter about oyster and then walked off.

Apologies if I made it sound like an army of staff!

Good job the machines did go live this morning as queues for the ticket office & machines were huge as I arrived for the 7.27. Did attempt to queue as wanted to use some 'Delay Repay' vouchers but gave up as still not served after 10 minutes of queuing and train about to depart!

Normal return ticket to Liverpool Street at the ticket office costs £15.70

Having to use the Oyster Card yesterday due to queues at the ticket office & machines ended up with a return ticket costing me £15.20

Glad I did get fed up queuing in the end now!

The fares are all searchable at https://tfl.gov.uk/fares-and-payments/f ... are-finder.

The off peak and peak cap are the same as the travelcard prices from Hertford east.
