Mixed blessing

If you want a seat, travel later on a slower train, top rail firm boss tells commuters

On the plus side: "Mr Horton has promised the extension of Oyster to Gatwick, Luton, Hertford North and Welwyn Garden City"

Thankfully I commute between Hertford North and Moorgate so I always get a seat.

There's not much more they can do on the Hertford Loop during peak hours as trains are limited to 6 carriages in length due to the restrictions in the underground section.

I was also told some time ago there is a power limitation on the Hertford loop itself - meaning they couldnt run more trains even if they had them to run with. May change with new trains though, as they would have lower power requirements.
