In Depth
Carrying on from Marilyn's post I noticed that In Depth have left their premises in Bull Plain. I hadn't heard anything about this but pleased to say that they are still trading, or organising lessons/trips on-line and continuing lessons at Hartham and Haileybury. They were part of my pitch to suppo...

Re: Bircherley Green Redevelopment 2016
I am not giving you any hope newgirl but at the River Room meeting the architects did acknowledge that the plans have been changed quite a few times to meet the demands of interested parties (who shall remain anonymous). I do know that before the meeting at the Hertford Club there were also several ...

Re: Bircherley Green Redevelopment 2016
I have this compulsion to check on Wrenbridge. According to their latest Twitter feed today (sorry I do not tweet) planning application for Bircherley Green should go in later this month. This might be as early as next week but on the evidence of the past two years do not hold your breath.

Re: Bircherley Green Redevelopment 2016
Couldn't honestly say that this is about Hertford but latest tweet from Wrenbridge: Wrenbridge @Wrenbridge Dec 2 Hopefully still time for 2 planning applications to go in before Christmas. An offer in today and another on Monday on new projects. I understand that there is still a bit of work to do ...

Re: Bircherley Green Redevelopment 2016
But the whole thing might be scuppered anyway, because, it would seem, the luddites on Folly Island prefer the brutal monstrosity that they currently look at to a thriving cafe area I think you may be overrating the influence Folly Island has on planning matters. Like everyone else the residents vi...

Re: Bircherley Green Redevelopment 2016
On Wednesday night the developer stated that Premier inns were expected to sign on the dotted line within two weeks subject of course to planning permission being granted. Waitrose was mentioned but only in the sense that they are now not being considered as a tenant, or at all - the hotel will now ...

Re: Bircherley Green Redevelopment 2016
I attended the Council/public meeting last evening and I must say that I haven't had such an enjoyable and entertaining evening for years. Better than watching all series of The Apprentice back to back with red wine and bombay mix served by Claudia Schiffer. There are so many issues there is just no...

Re: Supermarket Shoplifting Stats
Not a lot to do with shoplifting and not really about Hertford but in view of your last paragraph this piece from a Leicester Mercury journalist will strike a chord with anyone like Steve and me who have been involved in the town for some years and look for some local reporting. http://www.pressgaze...

Re: The End of Pay & Display
Similar technology as has been installed in Bircherley Green. It works very well as long as drivers can distinguish between an 'O' and a '0' or the letter O and the number 0 which caused a lot of teething troubles - especially when some of them couldn't remember their own license plate number! On th...
