Re: The Whistling Duck - Closed
Oh no I was about to book it for Saturday as the in-laws were coming. It was their favourite place around Hertford. Fine dining and the kids could run outside on the decking by the river. Any suggestions for equivalent places?

"Only one 30 minute ticket per day"
Hmm, that is not an improvement for users and will cause no end of knock on problems!
Do we know if the T&Cs are the same for all car parks, i.e. London Road?

Waitrose halting new stores nationwide
This seems like another nail in the coffin. Now can we stop the disastrous planned closing of the bus station?

Red Kite in Hornsmill
There was a Red Kite (the bird!) circling above Hornsmill playground on Saturday. Quite a sight. I see from wikipedia that you do get them in Hertfordshire.

Proposed changes to conservation area
This link to East Herts lays out proposed changes to Hertford Conservation Area. There is a public meeting and exhibition on Wednesday June 1 from 7pm-9pm at the Mill Bridge Rooms about this.
I guess this is a signpost to which areas they want to redevelop next.

Re: Industrial Estate residential and care home
I stopped by just after 5pm and it was well attended. Clearly they are aware that a big sticking point will be the single access point from Ware Road as one of the display boards had comparisons of other new builds with plans and pictures in Hertford and the top of the keys for the plans all had: “1...
