Re: Town Council Elections
Yes I will. I think it is important to exercise one's democratic right; some people around the world don't get the chance. Not too sure where my four 'x's will go as I haven't seen all the candidates literature. Unlikely to go to all one party. A question; why bother to vote. What is the point of th...

Re: Bircherley Green Redevelopment
I've spoken to a few people today and no one understands this at all - including I might add Savills (the managing agents, not Cordea Savills) and Diageo. On Tuesday Savills take back the Bircherley Green car park, toilets and lifts. It was always on the understanding that it would happen only if Wa...

Re: Bircherley Green Redevelopment
I think it was me rather than Steve who said that the redevelopment would be put on hold; actually quoting from the Mercury. I have to err on the side of caution because I don't know how confidential my information was. However as we are all men and women of the world Wrenbridge put it something lik...

Re: Bircherley Green Redevelopment
It looks as if the committee's decision was influenced by a letter sent to all councillors five days ago by Chris Roberts, Van Hage's Chairman and MD. Or possibly a letter from John McHale of Wrenbridge who wrote to all Councillors on 24 March and alluded to by the Mercury in their on-line report. ...

Re: Does Hertford Need A Bypass?
This one continues to rear its head. With the new Cole Green by-pass in place there are suggestions that a new road could go south from here and meet up somewhere such as at the Rush Green roundabout. I've heard no more of this because the Hertford Transport Forum no longer exists. But various peopl...

Re: Swanwatch 2015
I think last year was the first time I can remember not seeing any cygnets splashing around on the Lea. Seems that this year may be the same.

Housing in Mill Road/Mead Lane (former sidings)
Somehow this one has passed me by https://publicaccess.eastherts.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=summary&keyVal=NKH28LGLFJX00 120 residential units, commercial space etc etc. Where are all the cars going to go? This is a nightmare for access/egress for commercial traffic a...

Re: Note to EHDC
The problem with parking is that commuters/visitors/shoppers do not want to pay for parking and want to be as close as possible to their destination as the situation allows. The other issue is one of displacement. When one avenue of free parking is closed they will find another. The RPZ on Folly Isl...

Re: Pull down this eyesore...
This sums up Hertford in a nutshell. This sad looking structure is part of the town's history and heritage. It should have been carefully restored and sited in a spot suited to its past. Instead we get Del Boy to cover it with the left over paint from the Chinese takeaway. We like to ignore our heri...

Re: Sainsbury's
Mrs B was under the impression that I retired some years ago so a lot of boxes containing files etc have since been moved to the dark corners of the house. However although 9 pages seems an awful lot most of it if I remember was to do with the river, linkage, paving, the river walk and bridge, signa...
