Bircherley Green
What a depressing place Bircherley Green has become. Closed shops boarded up and now painted black. Waitrose also closed. Clock not working. Bus information board not working. Toilets only partially available and awful condition. So this is our County town now, just how long is this going to continu...

Re: Barry's Meat Van
I was told that he has retired. We did have a new butcher since Barry's retirement but he only lasted two weeks!

Re: "Hertford & Ware" Mercury
We used to have a standing order for The Mercury for many years, but decided that it was no longer good value for money as it contained very little current local news. It would appear from comments on here that it is now much worse and no longer can it be regarded as our local paper. Now the same ap...

Re: Hertfordshire Mercury job losses?
I wonder, what is the current circulation figure for the Mercury series compared with, say five years ago. I no longer buy the paper, and it is most difficult to read the on line version due to interrupting adverts each time. Sadly, it has lost its way. There are after all, other alternative sources...

Wallace family
Carrying out a family history project, I am seeking details of a Wallace family who lived, or possibly still living in the Palmer Road, Palmer Close or surrounding part of Bengeo. Any information would be appreciated.

Re: Need more frequent Buses in Hertfordshire!
Just occurs to me, is there another Cheshunt around this area that has such a bad bus service as Catlover100 suggests. It is certainly not the Cheshunt I know and visit frequently by bus.
Thank you for your support Kateg28, makes a lot of sense.

Well now, there really is no point in calling anyone a liar. I can only refer you to the Intalink website for bus timetables. Nuff Said!

Re: Need more frequent Buses in Hertfordshire!
You do not say where you wish to travel. Certainly the Waltham Cross to Hoddesdon corridor has a massive bus service, 310 to Hertford and Waltham Cross every 10-12 minutes, 410 etc to Harlow probably every 30 minutes. Seems to me that although not like London, this is a pretty good service. However, ...

Hertford Market
Just been looking at the absolutely brilliant website where Epping Town Council promote their Monday street market. Surely if they can do it, so could Hertford Town Council if they got their finger out and tried to promote the town. But maybe they are just not interested in bringing people into the ...
