Re: Musical Mystery Tour

Let me underline all that Golden has said. I doubt if anyone has an idea of the many people who contribute to this event and do it for free, or love of the town or just love of music. I ran the old style Hertford Music Festival in 2005 because there was no on else and I was organising Fun Day at the...

Re: Musical Mystery Tour

Unless I fell asleep and missed something I thought yesterday was a huge success. Mrs B and myself wandered through town, met a few old friends, chatted to a few people who had come to Hertford just for the event and met up with other residents. And a few drinks along the way. Well done Kev. Pleased...

Re: Mercury Leaving Hertford?

Just had to wipe a tear away from my eye as I read on Mercury on-line that the staff will be vacating the Addis premises for the last time today. I was thinking about offering them space in my garret but the struggling novelist 'formerly known as' is still up there banging away on his typewriter.

Re: Local Independents

I suppose I have more involvement in this movement than most. A lot of us stood as Independents for East Herts Council seats back in 2007. We had some minor victories. As you may be aware Town Councils throughout East Herts are now all Tory (there are some non-Tory councillors); as is East Herts on ...

Re: Senova Cycles

My son completed the 100 mile London Surrey Bike ride yesterday. Not in any record time but made a lot of money for Clic Sargent. Errol made sure his bike was in tip top condition and am sure that somewhere in the cost was his own contribution to the charity. Bikers were popping in all week for a si...

Re: Another Italian deli cafe

Next time I go for a stroll around town and people stop me and complain that there are no shoe shops in town I shall refer them to this post. Not to mention the number of ladies of a certain age who say there is nothing for them in town. Obviously these people are all walking around totally blind. W...

Waitrose at Van Hages

Much to my amazement at about 6.00pm last night I found that a third party had lodged a legal opinion over issues relating to the decision of the Council of March 25 and that the item on the agenda for last night had been deferred whilst EHDC take legal advice. With breath bated I watched the webcas...

Re: Early hours helicopter

Strangely enough I just read this on the Mercury on-line news page. I would not inflict the on-line site on my worst enemy so here is the news story in full. "Police were called out to Hertford this morning (June 14) following concerns for the welfare of a man. Assisted by a helicopter, officer...

Re: The Hertford Club

The Sunday night open mic stopped last year. ... I think there is some sort of open event this Wednesday; open to 'members, guests and visitors'. That was last Wednesday (8th). Pat Crilly does a monthly thing on the 2nd Weds of each month. I feel as if I'm living in a time warp. Must be a Hertford ...

Re: The Hertford Club

The Sunday night open mic stopped last year. That just shows you what I know but as Golden says there are posters on the entrance and I think there is some sort of open event this Wednesday; open to 'members, guests and visitors'. Toady, as for fees. I think the annual fee for Associate membership ...
