Re: Rushgreen Roundabout Dangerous Congestion

I would say the queueing from McDonalds onto the roundabout is definitely worse at lunchtimes. When Andrew Stevenson came round to my door electioneering a couple of years ago I mentioned the queuing and the problem/danger joining the roundabout form Gallows Hill and suggested maybe a keep clear box...

Re: Streetlights Mead Lane

I did email The Mercury last week but haven't had a response. Then again i don't think they are even local anymore are they. Not sure they would even know or care where Mead Lane is. There was a time when they would scour this forum for stories! Do you do the twitter? :) I think it's how things see...

Re: The Whistling Duck - Closed

Oh no I was about to book it for Saturday as the in-laws were coming. It was their favourite place around Hertford. Fine dining and the kids could run outside on the decking by the river. Any suggestions for equivalent places?

Re: The End of Pay & Display

"Only one 30 minute ticket per day"

Hmm, that is not an improvement for users and will cause no end of knock on problems!

Do we know if the T&Cs are the same for all car parks, i.e. London Road?

Re: District Plan Pre-submission draft

"the provision of enhanced bus services to support travel to and from new urban extensions to the town will provide
links wth the two existing railway stations and the central bus station."

I hope there still will be a central bus station by then!

Re: Waitrose at Van Hages

Waitrose halting new stores nationwide

This seems like another nail in the coffin. Now can we stop the disastrous planned closing of the bus station?

Red Kite in Hornsmill

There was a Red Kite (the bird!) circling above Hornsmill playground on Saturday. Quite a sight. I see from wikipedia that you do get them in Hertfordshire.

Proposed changes to conservation area

This link to East Herts lays out proposed changes to Hertford Conservation Area. There is a public meeting and exhibition on Wednesday June 1 from 7pm-9pm at the Mill Bridge Rooms about this.

I guess this is a signpost to which areas they want to redevelop next.
