Re: Community Charge 2018/19

My recollection is that the extra monies giving to CCs for social care was, originally and at their behest, not ring-fenced and many spent it on other budget items. Since the system changed and introduced a set charge for social care CCs now see this as a univ style system to go for the maximum each...

Community Charge 2018/19

The Mercury is reporting that HCC is proposing a rise for 2018/19 of 5.99%! Don't feel they currently deliver a service fit for the amount already charged, so presume this new rate is being set at a level of 0.01% below referendum level as they are not prepared to be democratic and go for a referend...

Re: Plumber

Didn't realise that as I spoke with him late summer. For last year's gas check I used Hertford Plumbers 07721 727514 - they were WHICH and HCC Trusted Traders and had no problems.

Re: Looks like Bypass is getting closer

Perhaps I missed it but don't recall anything about an improved A1(M)/A414 link at Hatfield or improvements to the A10 to carry the additional heavy traffic this outer ring road would attract, let alone the developers who will follow it looking to build hamlets along the side of the new bypass. IMO ...

Re: Looks like Bypass is getting closer

Agreed, but my concern is that it is rather like an election manifesto 'Elect me and I'll give you x' but there is no guarantee, especially if we see a change in Government. Also between 2017-22 Hertford will see another 565 homes built (1,850 by 2033) and the EHDC DP (Modifications 2018) is now say...

Re: Looks like Bypass is getting closer

My recollection, from watching the Inspector's visit, was that this was only mentioned but no-one from Highways spoke to the project. When I completed the LTP4 consultation I did not find anything stating there is money behind the proposal and HCC does not even mention that government has in any way...

Re: Another public consultation on Hertford Town Centre

I see EHDC have an informal consultation on Maidenhead Street at https://www.eastherts.gov.uk/consultations
which cover Letter to Residents, General Arrangement Plan and Traffic Regulation Order. Not very well publicised to the general population.

Re: Bircherley Green

Like others I was confused as to progress on the redevelopment so I wrote to Wrenbridge and they have been very prompt in replying to me advising: " "Thank you for your helpful feedback in relation to communication. We will aim to provide an update to the Mercury over the 6weeks. Wrenbridge have upd...
