Re: Three cheers for Mark Prisk

Not sure about you, but that looks to me like he wants to make sure that his constituents who commute into London pay unregulated higher fares to privately operated TOCs who he wants to retain their franchises. Why would he want to do that? Because he was whipped Useful link: Blame party whips, not...

Re: Three cheers for Mark Prisk

.. the age of the rolling stock doesn't really have any relevance ... I would beg to differ. As someone who has ridden on the 317 class stock (1981-7) operating on the HFE line, and the 379 class stock (2010-11) operating on the Stansted Express route, I can tell you that the latter is a lot quiete...

Re: Three cheers for Mark Prisk

Out of interest, can anyone give an example of something that Mark Prisk has done for the people of Hertford in the 16 years that he has been our MP? I'm talking about anything where it was a lost cause and he has intervened and turned it around or actively campaigned for something that wouldn't ha...

Re: Three cheers for Mark Prisk

As far as I can gather, public sector pay is still about 10% higher than private sector pay - even weighted for job type. So, no, I don't see an issue with holding back the pay of the public sector to let the private sector catch up. At the end of the day, the Public sector do a very valuable job, ...

Re: Bircherley Green Redevelopment 2016

You've got to hand it to the Mercury for up to minute news reporting; even possibly a scoop. They have just put a report on the internet that Waitrose will be closing at 4.00pm on 12 September. I said this on this board on 29 June. Where have they been? Cheshunt ... there is a lot of ignoranc...

Re: Three cheers for Mark Prisk

so Mr Admin, someone comes on and calls tories bigots and that's ok? racists? ok as well...? what a shame that that Hertford.net is now a shadow of itself. Don't be ridiculous. I did not say anything like that. Please read what I wrote, without some wild imagined misinterpretation to suit your part...

Re: Three cheers for Mark Prisk

It's a shame the nasty left have to vent their spleen on this local discussion board. Their hatred for democracy runs deep. Mr Prisk isn't my choice, but calling the duly elected member for Hertford and Stortford names seems to be the standard we should expect from them. One person has made a comme...

^^ What John said

One of the issues is that many people simply don't understand the planning system. It's not a popularity contest.

Re: Bircherley Green Redevelopment 2016

Indeed. This is a huge investment in the town and compromises have to be made. It's far from perfect but given the needs of the town versus the needs of the developer, this is probably the best that can be achieved. Wrenbridge have put a huge effort in to this and deserve more credit. If the plannin...
