GNRail haven't got Oyster (yet) but they are introducing a "smartcard". http://www.thameslinkrailway.com/tickets-and-fares/the-key-smartcard/ It's compatible with Oyster card readers which, I assume, means you will have to keep your Oyster card and Smartcard apart when touching tge Oyster ...

Driving around both Hertford and Stortford (the towns, not the surrounding areas) I've seen quite a few Labour posters but very few [if any] Tory or Libdem. I too look out for these. The only downside I've found to commuting from Jeetford North is the age of the rolling stock. The units are approaching 40 years old and prone to failure, in particular getting a heated carriage during the winter months is something of a lottery. Thankfully I commute between Hertford North and Moorgate so I always get a seat.

There's not much more they can do on the Hertford Loop during peak hours as trains are limited to 6 carriages in length due to the restrictions in the underground section.
