Re: Musical Mystery Tour 2017

It was great - some good music, and it was lovely to see so many people in the town. The sun came out too. It looked like Hertford at its best!

Foreign currency

Do you know if there is anywhere in Hertford to donate foreign currency? I have a handful of coins and am unlikely to return to Poland or Czech Republic any time soon, so thought I would donate them to charity. I assume the banks don't accept them for charity?

Grateful for your thoughts. Thanks.

Re: A Black Hole is forming

I went past Four Seasons today and saw their 60% off sale, it was very sad.

Re: A Black Hole is forming

Many thanks for the reply.

Whilst we are that end of town, does anyone know what is going on with the old Post Office building? Is it just going to sit there and decay a bit like Ashleys in Maidenhead Street? Shame if it does.

Re: A Black Hole is forming

Does anyone know why Four Seasons is going? With the loss of Four Seasons and The Oak Room, the town is losing two great places for gifts. I can't remember the name of the shop where ILVINO Bar/Cafe is now, but that was another good gift shop. I am guessing that has been gone for a year or two now. ...

Re: Old Walters Garage Houses

We drove past there today and noticed the building progress, but can't help but think they really are on an island between two busy roads. Not much of a view from the front nor the back, and surely it is going to be noisy? The windows seem awfully close to the roads.

Re: New bridges at Hertford basin

I live down there at Elder Court and am looking forward to it. I hope they will be of better quality or duration than what is there at present as it is very depressing to see something fixed, and then smashed and out of action for weeks at a time. I am not in favour of the suggestion above about a n...

Storms this week - Greater Anglia kept moving

I was actually surprised following the thunder and lightning on Tuesday evening that the trains from Hertford East were not disrupted at all. No floods, no lightning strikes, and I got to work on time. I will have to remember that next time I am turfed off at Broxbourne with no notice! :D
