Nice little quiz here: 'How well do you know the constituency of Hertford and Stortford?'

I only scored 65%, I'm sure others will do much better.

Re: Understanding the market in hertford
A frightening new report shows how far out of reach the property market has become for first time buyers in the South East: http://www.theguardian.com/business/2015/may/04/first-time-buyers-need-to-earn-77000-a-year-to-live-in-london This is becoming a major problem. It must already be virtually imp...

Re: Who will come second?
Thanks for the poll Admin!
I'm surprised that four people think ukip will be runners up, if that were the case and assuming that most kippers are disillusioned Tories, then presumably they will take a massive chunk out of Prisk's majority and we may even be in for a major upset!

Who will come second?
That Mark Prisk will win is a foregone conclusion, but there must be something to get excited about, so who will come second this time and by how many? In 2010 it was Andrew Lewin for the Lib Dems who I remember was an excellent candidate. Over the past 25 years a Lib Dem candidate has been runner u...

Re: Hertford Mosque Planning Application
There's even an online petition now with 130 signatures! The 'Spotted in Hertford' Facebook page is urging people to sign it. Some of the comments on there are appalling. Apparently Hertford is on the slippery slope to Sharia Law... and "London, Birmingham, Luton and Bradford" are already "Sharia la...

Nothing wrong with a good basic Shish kebab, far more nourishing than many of the expensive cholesterol packed meals served in some of our more upmarket restaurants.

My gripe is with drivers who don't give way to pedestrians crossing at T-junctions... especially when it's raining!

Re: Deteriorating Properties in Hertford.
Assuming they are listed, there are things that local authorities can do, from making the building weather tight themselves to forcing a compulsory purchase. But of course it'll all cost money: http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/publications/stoppingtherot/acc-stopping-the-rot-summary.pdf" target="_...

Re: The most pointless statement ever
Unfortunately our ludicrous electoral system means that candidates like Katherine Chibah can only ever be going through the motions in a 'safe' constituency like ours . But she's right to say we need a proper cap on rail fares, this government's 6.1% cap is way too high and commuting to London as ma...
