Re: New trains on Hertford North route announced

On the train in to work yesterday one of the new trains passed me going North and pulling about eight or ten freight trucks. I don't know how long the passenger part was, as I looked up as it passed so only caught the last carriage, and then all the freight trucks. It was a shorter formation then t...

Re: New trains on Hertford North route announced

Two of the new trains have been spotted near Harringay / Hornsey today.

All they need to do now is teach the drivers how to operate them* and route-train them.

* Hopefully that will include how to turn on the heating when it is cold and the air conditioning when it is hot.

Re: New timetable from Hertford North - May 2018

The interim timetable has now been published. Trains on the Hertford Loop appear unaffected. Nothing leaving Hertford North towards London between 0600 and 0900 has been changed.

Re: New timetable from Hertford North - May 2018

Not satisfied with cancelling services running them late and generally not having a clue what is going on, now they're sending them off earlier than timetabled!

Re: New timetable from Hertford North - May 2018

GTR have said that they will introduce an interim timetable on 15 July. This, allegedly, is one that they say they will be able to run with far fewer issues than the current timetable. Playing devil's advocate, what if this timetable turns out to be something like a weekend timetable where there are...

Re: New timetable from Hertford North - May 2018

They excelled themselves today. The 0832 Hertford North to Moorgate service wasn't showing at all on their app. Along with at least two other commuters I asked on twitter what had happened to it. The response was that it wasn't running today and the service had been taken off the app to avoid confus...

Re: New timetable from Hertford North - May 2018

If you're on twitter, can thoroughly recommend following @garius who explains why the problems on the trains have come about. He's written a fantastic explanation on the issue of drivers - employing, training, poaching. One route that has been introduced requires FIVE different drivers at the moment!

Re: New timetable from Hertford North - May 2018

It seems that someone at GN Rail has come up with a cunning plan to reduce the time that their twitter team spend answering questions. They have devised a standard response. This has been tweeted as a reply several times this morning: "We have cancelled the services we know are not able to be run to...
