As a hiker I would hate to see the lovely footpath to Chapmore End ruined or even removed by a quarry. In the summer it is of my favourite local walks as the footpath comes in to Bengeo, some great views can be had. The old Rickneys quarry is indeed a sad blot on the local landscape when we consider...

Developers have submitted a request to vary the plans for 5 new 2 bed flats on the corner of Railway Street and St John Street. I would imagine that the area along that part of the river is a target for developers. It is easy walking distance to Hertford East and town centre, the added draw of "riverside views" would make it property easy to sell. It looks pretty awful to me, and I would have thought overlooked by ...

Agreed it looks out of place there along that part of the river

The development will mean more traffic on the one access road
