I always watch online - like to see who is active or just making up the numbers.
If you can and know your councillors by sight, try and spot who's missing, and how those present vote. I'm expecting a high turnout and only a very few abstentions and votes against.
Do they put up who voted which way afterwards, i.e. is there an official record? (I looked though some minutes and they only say things like "it was passed")

The vote on adoption of the EHDC District Plan is tomorrow night. 18:30 for 19:00, Tuesday 23 Oct, EHDC Offices, Pegs Lane, Hertford.

It's pretty much a foregone conclusion that the councillors will vote for adoption. But you might still want to come and say hello to them.

So the Sec of State issued a holding direction late yesterday afternoon meaning the plan could not be adopted. Must say I do agree with EHDC that it was rather late in the day to notify it of the decision.
Stephen McPartland has clearly learned how to play the system, having previously managed to get the Stevenage Local Plan put on hold.

On Tuesday evening, EHDC will vote on adoption of the District Plan including the proposed Sele and Mead Lane developments. We need a big crowd to remind councillors of the depth of feeling from their constituents about the plan.

jesus wept - solve traffic problem with by-pass; then cause it again by halving capacity (bus lane)
The idea is that a bypass would remove traffic from Gascoyne Way and allow the spare capacity to be used for a rapid transit system going east/west across the county.

The Local Transport Plan (LPT4) talks about "A passenger transit link offering greater speeds and reliability than traditional bus services, linking Hemel Hempstead Rail Station in the west to Welwyn Garden City in the east, with potential future extensions to Hertford and Harlow". It''a a recognition that east/west public transport in Hertfordshire is inadequate and requires improvement. However, this, like the bypass, is purely an aspiration.
